Steve Hilderbrand has been named Store Manager of Wholesale Tire & Auto's Morgantown store.  Hilderbrand is a lifelong resident of Morgantown, with over twenty-five years of experience in the automotive business. Most recently working for the RV industry, Hilderbrand says he is pleased to be returning to his passion for automobiles, with Wholesale Tire.

 

Steve began working in the automotive industry in 1974, serving in a variety of independent shops and dealerships while feeding his love for 60's and 70's muscle cars. He even managed his own break and alignment shop for eight years.  He has been married for over 30 years to his wife Susan, which he says attests to her acceptance of his obsession with cars.

 

He says he spent too much money trying to make those cars go faster in his younger years, but gave up the speed when he became a grandfather. He still follows auctions and sales of those beloved cars, though, and is fascinated by the renewed interest of the cars of his youth. He recently watched an old Nova sell for $22,000 in an auction.  It was the same car his dad had paid $2700 for, when it was new.

 

Steve most recently worked in Fairmont. His interest in cars has always kept him on the cutting edge of the industry in which he makes his living, and he is looking forward to reacquainting himself with old friends back in Morgantown, and helping them take care of the automobiles he loves. 

 

Wholesale Tire & Auto began in Clarksburg in 1964. Initially, all the service work was done outdoors. In 1965, the operation moved "under roof", and the progress has continued since then.

 

Today the group encompasses three stores, including locations in Fairmont and Morgantown, with 55 employees and over 500 years' combined experience in the auto business.
